"Since I discovered the wealth of submarine life just through my diving mask, I’ve never lost my love for the profession of shellfish farmer. The desire to continue the work begun by my father has made me keen on expanding the company.
Located on the shores of "Etang de Thau" (on the French Mediterranean coast), MEDI THAU MAREE SA specialises in the production, purification and sending of shellfish. Special features of this pond production include its high level of calcite and warm water currents which encourage the growth of plant plankton and thus shellfish.
Since it was set up in 1989, Médithau has always followed the same principles : product quality, respect for customers, protection of our production environment and of course improving life quality of our workforce. These are sustainable development principles !
When you are fortunate enough to be able to farm shellfish with such an outstanding quality (in terms of taste, nutrition and also as an iconic product) in an incredible area ("l’Etang de Thau" and the Mediterranean sea), acting to preserve environment is self-evident. We are proud of being forerunners in terms of renewable energy and sustainable development (first sustainable development report at the end of 2007).
